My interest in opening my own criminal defense law firm to provide people from all walks of life with high-quality, affordable legal counsel initially took shape before I graduated from the University of Miami School of Law in 2007. That desire was magnified, however, as I was working as an assistant state attorney in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office following law school. In that role, I witnessed more people receiving poor criminal defense representation from disengaged lawyers than I care to admit.

I knew then that I would eventually practice criminal defense law and provide high-quality legal counsel at affordable rates by founding Magilligan Law in Aventura.

I assured myself that I could operate on my terms, which at its core means providing client-focused criminal defense with an emphasis on clear communication and finding the most effective and practical solution in every case.

My clients work directly with me from the initial consultation through the resolution of the case. I am accessible, and I return all messages within 24 hours. I invest a great deal of time early in the case, helping each client understand the options we most likely will be presented with. I also learn the primary concerns and objectives of each client and present a realistic assessment of how the case may play out.

It does no one good to overpromise and under-deliver.
